Why we built this
Families today are busier than ever. Between work, school, and life's demands, finding time together feels impossible. We built Family Odyssey to change that - technology that finds time for you, not takes it from you.
The Problem
Multiple calendars across family members create scheduling chaos. Free time exists but goes unnoticed and unused. Parents feel constant guilt about not spending enough time with their kids, yet have no visibility into how much quality time is actually happening.
Our Solution
Family Odyssey syncs everyone's calendars, automatically surfaces when you're all free, and gives you real analytics on the time you spend together. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the time itself.
Why we built it
I built Family Odyssey for my own family first. We had three calendars across iOS and Google, two parents on different schedules, and the same Sunday-night question every week: when are we all actually free this week?
The existing family apps either wanted to track our location, sell our data, or paywalled features that should be free. I didn't want any of that for my own kids. So I started building something I'd actually trust to hold our family's calendar.
We're early. The app has a small number of families using it. That's on purpose — I'd rather get the privacy and the calendar logic right with a hundred families than ship something flashy to a million. Privacy & Security
Three-tier calendar privacy controls per family member. No background location tracking — location is requested only when you ask the chat for nearby places, and even then the AI prompt sees city-level only, never street addresses. Kids are observer profiles — they never get a login, never get tracked.
Restraint
We ship features that solve specific moments of family life. If a feature can't justify itself in one sentence, it doesn't ship.
Cross-platform
